Allied Health Experts & The NDIS

People who meet the NDIS access requirements are called participants. Participants receive funded support and an individual plan. Allied Health Experts can help you access the National Disability Insurance Scheme by providing evidence demonstrating how your disability affects your everyday life.

Before making your access request, we will help determine your basic eligibility. Some of the determinations used by the NDIS include, but are not limited to:

• YOUR AGE: Are you between 7 and 65 years old? If so, you may qualify for the NDIS. If you have a child who is under 7 years of age or if you are over 65 years of age, contact us to see if you qualify.

• YOUR RESIDENCY STATUS: Do you have Australian residency as a citizen, as a permanent visa holder or as a special category visa holder? If so, you may qualify for the NDIS. If you fall outside of these categories, you will not qualify for the NDIS. However, there may be other support options available to you, and we can help with locating those support options.

• YOUR DISABILITY SUPPORT NEEDS: Do you need support from another person regularly because of your disability? Are you dependent upon specialised support equipment due to your disability? If you answered “yes” to either one or both of these questions, you may be eligible for the NDIS.

At the time of your access request, you will need to provide your age and residency evidence information. After an assessment, we will be able to provide specific evidence about your disability, how it occurred (workplace, illness, genetic, etc.) and how the disability impacts your everyday life.
